Love Loughborough BID, working alongside Charnwood Borough Council, is launching a brand-new scheme, Ward’s End Quarter High Street Boost, to encourage shoppers to visit the businesses within this area.
The area is currently being regenerated under the Bedford Square Gateway Project, a significant scheme for Bedford Square, Ward’s End and Devonshire Square. The project will see footpaths widened and re-paved to create a high-quality and attractive street scene that will showcase the area’s distinct character and heritage.
As part of the Ward’s End Quarter High Street Boost scheme, a variety of businesses are offering their customers a £5 gift voucher to spend in Loughborough Town Centre, for every £10 spent in stores signed up to the scheme. The maximum amount of vouchers one customer can receive from a single purchase is £100 in vouchers (please see terms and conditions). There are £10,000 worth of gift vouchers to redeem from the participating businesses, so when they are gone, they are gone.
BID Manager, Lisa Brown says “We have been working with businesses who have been affected by the construction works as part of the Bedford Square Gateway Project and have collectively formed the Ward’s End Quarter High Street Boost scheme.
“We are hoping the scheme will encourage higher footfall and more spend within the area with the incentive to receive gift vouchers in return for spend.”
Cllr Jenny Bokor, lead member for Loughborough, said: “We are delighted to support this scheme and would encourage people to visit Ward’s End, Devonshire Square and Bedford Square.
“The High Street Boost scheme is a fantastic offer and we look forward to seeing people supporting their local shops, cafes, pubs and other businesses.”
The Council is also supporting the area by continuing to offer free parking for 1 hour at Bee Hive Lane car park.
Vouchers are only awarded in the Wards End Quarter but can be redeemed in over 55 businesses throughout the town. These businesses can be found on the Love Loughborough Gift Voucher Scheme and be identified from the gift voucher window sticker. From restaurants to shoes, artisan chocolate to luxury gifts, there is a vast variety of choice for all. The scheme aims to boost high street footfall and encourage customers to support our local businesses by shopping and spending locally.

I can’t see anywhere it says when the scheme starts, are we to assume it’s now?
